MODERN METHODS IN TEACHING ENGLISH LANGUAGE

The teaching of English has changed significantly over the last few decades due to technological development and innovations in educational methodology. Traditional teacher-centered instruction has gradually been replaced by learner-centered approaches that encourage communication, collaboration, and critical thinking. Modern teaching methods help learners develop practical language skills rather than simply memorizing grammar rules and vocabulary. This article examines several effective methods of teaching English, including the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach, Task-Based Learning (TBL), Project-Based Learning (PBL), blended learning, gamification, and the use of artificial intelligence. The study also discusses the advantages and challenges of these methods and provides recommendations for English language teachers.
