Abstract

Thisarticleexaminesintensive methodsofteaching English toteenagelearners andevaluates theireffectivenessin developing communicative competence within shortened instructional timeframes. Drawing on classroomobservations and practical teaching experience in Uzbekistan, the study identifies key pedagogical strategies —including role-playing, debate-based instruction, game-assisted learning, and real-life scenario integration —that align with the cognitive and social characteristics of adolescent learners. The findings suggest that intensivemethods, when carefully adapted to the psychological profile of teenagers, significantly accelerate languageacquisition and boost learner motivation. The article also discusses challenges in implementation and offersrecommendations for educators seeking to incorporate intensive approaches in secondary and higher educationcontexts.
