Ushbu maqolada ingliz tilini boshqa tilda so‘zlashuvchilarga o‘qitishning nazariy va amaliy jihatlari tahlil qilinadi. Ingliz tilining global mavqei, uni o‘rganishning ijtimoiy, iqtisodiy va madaniy ahamiyati keng yoritilgan. Shuningdek, zamonaviy metod va yondashuvlar, innovatsion texnologiyalardan foydalanish imkoniyatlari hamda o‘quvchilarda uchraydigan muammolar va ularni bartaraf etish yo‘llari ko‘rsatib berilgan. Maqolada o‘qituvchining kasbiy kompetensiyalari ham alohida tahlil qilinadi.
