To grasp the significance of cultural knowledge in language education, it is important to examine the extent to which cultural background shapes both teaching and learning. Understanding the various roles culture plays in language acquisition helps us recognize its influence on key language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and translation.

Abstract

In our increasingly interconnected world, language serves as a vital tool for preserving and appreciating cultural diversity. When students learn a new language, it is essential they not only gain proficiency in its grammar and vocabulary but also develop an understanding of the culture, traditions, and values of the people who speak it. This dual focus fosters long-term intercultural understanding and harmony.
