This article examines Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel’s philosophy of history and its interpretation of historical development as a rational and dialectical process. Hegel considers history as the progressive realization of human freedom through the unfolding of the World Spirit (Geist) in time. The study analyzes the relationship between reason, freedom, and the state in Hegel’s historical conception, as well as the role of nations and great individuals in shaping historical progress. Special attention is given to the dialectical method as a tool for understanding social and political transformations. The article also discusses the significance of Hegel’s ideas for modern historiography and social philosophy. By exploring Hegel’s theoretical framework, the research highlights how historical events can be interpreted not as random occurrences but as interconnected stages of human intellectual and social evolution. The paper concludes that Hegel’s philosophy remains an important methodological foundation for interpreting historical processes.
