Ushbu maqolada hasharotxo‘r sut emizuvchilarning tabiat ekotizimlari va qishloq xo‘jaligi muhitidagi ekologik roli o‘rganilgan. Hasharotxo‘r sut emizuvchilar — ko‘rsichqonlar, ko‘rshapalaklar va boshqa hasharotxo‘r sut emizuvchilar — biosferada bir necha jihatdan muhim funksiyani bajaradi. Ya’ni ular hasharot populatsiyasini biologik tartibga soladi, tuproq hosildorligini oshiradi, gul changlatish va urug‘ tarqatish jarayonlarida ishtirok etadi. Tadqiqotlar shuni ko‘rsatadiki, bu hayvonlar global ekotizimlarda yiliga milliardlab dollar miqdoridagi foydani ta’minlaydi — ayniqsa qishloq xo‘jaligidagi zararkunanda hasharotlarni biologik nazorat qilish orqali. Shunga qaramasdan, yashash joylari yo‘qolishi, iqlim o‘zgarishi, kimyoviy pestitsidlardan foydalanish va boshqa antropogen omillar bu hayvonlar populatsiyasiga jiddiy tahdid solmoqda. Maqolada hasharotxo‘r sut emizuvchilarning ekotizim xizmatlari batafsil tahlil qilinib, ularni muhofaza qilish bo‘yicha ilmiy asoslangan takliflar berilgan.
